Napoleon, all nice and finished! This costume was really frustrating and challenging at times, but also amazingly fun to work on. Though there are dozens of issues (most of which I hope to fix before re-wearing it) but I'm still all sorts of proud when it comes to the end results.
A lot of people seemed to underestimate how short this skirt is...but really it's tinnyyyy. I think I managed to flash everyone while wearing this costume. Stairs were my worst nightmare. I really need to make tiny spandex shorts for under this or something because this was ridiculous...
Photography and post processing by the lovely Anna Fischer; I randomly bumped into her at AnimeNEXT, which was quite exciting! I was so happy to work with her- and even happier with the results, her photos are always so pretty.
Seriously guys, between the four posts I have 4000+ words talking about everything from drafting the jacket, ruffling the skirt, making the hat, and altering the boots. If you have a question, i'm sure you can find the answer somewhere in there. Or you can just ask, you know.
The full quote is "Glory is fleeting, but obscurity is forever." Napoleon wasn't a very good emperor, but he did speak some lovely things in his lifetime.
You're soo cute omg! I checked out your blog, and wow. You work REALLY hard on your cosplays. I'm thinking about making balloon/mushroom shorts because of your picture! I never knew they were simple
I mean that in the best way possible ya triangle headed lady.
